Bobi, the longest-lived dog ever, turns 31: party with more than 100 guests
"He has managed to live this long thanks to the calm and peaceful environment he has always found himself in," explains the owner. The animal has never been on a leashBobi, the world's oldest dog, turned 31 .
And to celebrate the birthday there was a party with over 100 guests , Portuguese dishes based on meat and fish and even a performance by some dancers.
Born and raised in the Portuguese village of Conquieros, Bobi is the longest-living dog ever . According to its owner , Leonel Costa has managed to live so long thanks to the "calm and peaceful" environment in which he has always found himself.
Never kept on a leash, he was always free to roam in the wooded areas near his home . In addition, he always ate the house food, despite the contrary indications of the vets.
The quiet life of this canine celebrity has only become more eventful in the last period, when last February the Guinness World Record recognized him as the oldest dog ever and has now sent him birthday greetings.
"Many journalists and onlookers came from all over the world to take a picture with Bobi," said Mr. Costa, who at 38 can say that he has spent almost his entire life with his dog. Many, perhaps too many visits, so much so that Bobi was affected by the stress.
Today, however, he is better. Bobi, like many older dogs, has difficulty walking and loves to rest a lot, otherwise he doesn't have major health problems. " If only he could talk... Only he could explain how he managed to live so long - explained Leonel Costa - he is truly one of a kind".
