Yet another twist in the appeal process involving Cardinal Angelo Becciu regarding the management of the funds of the Secretariat of State and the sale of the Palace of London .

At the end of the fourth hearing today in the Vatican, the Court of Appeal presided over by Msgr. Alejandro Arellano Cedillo postponed the entire hearing to February 3, 2026, with continuation on February 4, 5, and 6 .

The Court, however, reserved the right to "decide, with a separate provision, on the release of the Centurion fund funds, raised by APSA", and granted the parties "the date of 7 November 2025" to submit explanatory briefs on the preliminary questions , and a subsequent deadline of 28 November 2025 for any replies.

In the first instance, Becciu had been sentenced to five and a half years. In the final hearing, the Vatican Court of Appeal, presided over by Msgr. Alejandro, declared the appeal lodged by the Promoter of Justice Alessandro Diddi against the first instance sentence of December 16, 2023, inadmissible .
