Forget negotiations, it's a battle in Hormuz . According to the Iranian news agency Fars, two Tehran missiles hit a US warship trying to enter the Strait .
The ship was hit near Jask Island after ignoring Iranian warnings. It was then forced to turn back and leave the area. According to state television, the Iranian navy also blocked two other US warships from entering the Strait .
The news was denied to Axios by another US official. But what is certain is that Operation 'Project Freedom,' announced by Donald Trump to liberate Hormuz together with Iran , is far from having begun.
Indeed, Tehran promptly made the record clear: "We warn that any foreign armed force, especially the invading US military, will be subject to attack if it intends to approach and enter the Strait of Hormuz, " declared Khatam al-Anbiya, commander of Iran's Hazrat Central Headquarters. "We will maintain and manage the security of the Strait of Hormuz with all our forces and we hereby inform all commercial vessels and oil tankers to refrain from any transit actions without the coordination of the armed forces stationed in the Strait of Hormuz, so as not to jeopardize their safety. The security of the Strait of Hormuz is in the hands of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran , and any safe passage and navigation, under any circumstances, will be coordinated with the armed forces."
Then, to reinforce the point, the Pasdaran showed a new map showing the area of the Strait of Hormuz controlled and administered by Iran . The area under Pasdaran command would extend, according to the new map, between Kuh-e Mobarak in Iran and Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates, and between the tip of the Iranian island of Qeshm and Umm Al Quwain, also in Emirati territory, effectively placing the entire Strait under Iranian control.
