Massacre in Australia. Eleven people were murdered—including Sydney Rabbi Eli Schlanger and a 12-year-old girl—and many others were injured after two men shot a crowd gathered on Bondi Beach for a Jewish Hanukkah celebration. The attack was reportedly anti-Semitic.

One of the killers was arrested, the other was killed, while two other people were arrested by the police shortly after the incident, as later confirmed by local law enforcement.

Several witnesses reported that a man got out of a car on Campbell Parade and opened fire. Other images show two people dressed in black firing shots on the beach.

Bondi Beach, located on the eastern outskirts of the city, is one of the most famous beach resorts in the world, renowned for its relaxed atmosphere and golden sand, as well as for its surfing.

The massacre sparked mourning and condemnation around the world. "The horrifying scenes of this latest attack remind us that our vigilance and mobilization against anti-Semitism and racial hatred must continue at the highest level. I express my closeness to the Australian Government. My thoughts are with all those affected, their loved ones, and the Jewish communities," Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani wrote on social media.
