Bennie Thompson, the (dem) chairman of the House Committee investigating the January 6 assault on Congress does not rule out, if necessary, also citing Donald Trump for a deposition. To report it is the CNN.
The former president has so far invoked executive privilege to obstruct the investigation, asking his former aides not to testify on Capitol Hill.
Meanwhile, Steve Bannon, Donald Trump's former strategist, also risks a complaint for contempt of Congress, having not presented himself in recent days to testify before the US House commission investigating the assault on Congress.
The commission has started the procedure and will meet on 19 October for the vote.
Bannon refused to cooperate by invoking Trump's executive privilege to obstruct the investigation.
