The Argentine Criminal Court of Cassation has overturned Judge María Servini's decision to revoke the house arrest of 73-year-old Italian former Red Brigades member Leonardo Bertulazzi, ordering his detention due to absconding.

With a favorable vote from Judges Angela Ledesma and Alejandro Slokar—and a dissenting vote from Guillermo Yacobucci —the Supreme Court of Cassation upheld Bertulazzi's defense appeal, ordering a new ruling that takes into account his advanced age and his continued refugee status. The former Red Brigades member, whose extradition Italy has requested, now awaits the administrative court's decision on his status.
