Tragedy in the Albanian football Serie A.

The Ghanaian player Rapahel Dwamena, a 28-year-old striker for Egnatia, the top league team in Tirana, has died after an illness on the pitch.

The tragedy occurred in the 24th minute of the first half of the match against Partizani Tirana: first aid on the pitch and hospitalization were not enough to save the player's life.

The death was made official with a tweet from the Albanian football federation, which announced the suspension of all matches scheduled for the weekend.

According to local media, Dwamena had also had health problems in the past.
