Turning a light on autism, keeping alive the attention on an increasingly frequent and sometimes ignored disorder by institutions and by those who should take charge of it.
This is the goal of Angsa Sassari, an association of parents of autistic people who, once again this year, has organized a series of initiatives on the occasion of 2 April, World Day of Awareness on Autism.

The first initiative scheduled, scheduled for Wednesday 30 March, is "In contact with emotions", a training seminar in which Dr. Ica Manca, child neuropsychiatrist of Uonpia di Sassari (Child Neuropsychiatry Operating Unit) will speak. The seminar will take place in the theater of the Don Bosco Salesian Oratory in Latte Dolce.

On 2 April in Sassari, as a sign of attention to the disease, the Ducal Palace of the Municipality of Sassari, the Bompiani Palace, seat of the General Directorate of the AOU of Sassari, the Church of the Rosary of the Municipality of Osilo, the Baronial Palace will be illuminated in blue. of the Municipality of Sorso and the town hall of Banari.

On Saturday 2 April the ASD Don Bosco athletes will take to the field for autism during the championship matches (CSI and FIGC) and will wear blue T-shirts with an awareness message in the sports fields of the Salesian Oratory of Sweet Milk. After the matches, all the athletes will be invited for an evening of entertainment with music, inflatables and face painting.

Finally, an appointment also in schools with "Let's tell about autism", an initiative aimed at all institutes of all types and levels with the aim of addressing the issues of inclusion and knowledge of the autism spectrum disorder.

The initiative involves the creation of works (drawing, poem, letter, video) that will be published on the association's social channels.

Sunday 24 April Angsa Sassari also joins the blue relay for autism, an initiative promoted by the national Angsa, which will start from Sardinia and will cross all regions of Italy. The event consists of a walk along the Z15 stage of the Sentiero Italia (path traced by the CAI) in Monte Corrasi.

THE DISORDER - Autism spectrum disorder occurs at an early age (between 18 and 36 months) and often manifests itself with difficulties related to social interaction and communication and with the presence of limited interests and repetitive behaviors. The latest estimates made by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità reveal that in Italy the autism spectrum disorder affects 1 child in 77 and in general about 400 thousand people. In Sardinia, things are not better: the figures are around 10 thousand people affected.
