“Ussi80. World Cup stories: voices, legends, and champions with the protagonists of yesterday and today. A tribute to Nando Martellini and Bruno Pizzul - Sport and social issues: for an inclusive, cohesive Sardinia, against discrimination and inequality.” This is the title of the event celebrating the eightieth anniversary of the Italian Sports Press Union , which will stop in Sanluri on May 5th, Serdiana on May 21st, and Villasimius from June 5th to 7th.

The presentation took place today at the Regional Tourism Department, with greetings from the mayors of the three municipalities and from Giovanni Malagò, Simonetta Martellini, Fabio Pizzul, Duvan Zapata, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Gianfranco Coppola, Fabio Grosso, Mauro Esposito, Matteo Marani, and Gianfranco Zola.

Zola and Esposito will also be among the event's keynote speakers, along with Martina Caironi, Beppe Dossena, Leonardo Pavoletti, David Suazo, Mauro Esposito, Robert Acquafresca, Renato Copparoni, Chiara Obino, Sandro Floris, Beppe Tomasini, and Nicola Riva.

For Councilor Cuccureddu, it is "an event that broadens the concept of sport and social life in a Region that integrates and includes people with its beautiful environment."

The program – Ussi80 – in tandem with Asd Mediterranea – will develop in three stages:

1) Sanluri, Tuesday 5 May - documentary “Mennea segreto” by Emanuela Audisio, with magistrate Paolo De Angelis, Gianfranco Dotta, Sandro Floris, Ernesto Nocco, Angelo Cherchi and students from the Comprehensive and Vignarelli Institutes.

2) Serdiana, Thursday, May 21. Don Ettore Cannavera's La Collina Community will host the debate "The Role of Sport in Society," featuring previously unreleased videos. Martina Caironi and Chiara Obino are expected. Speakers will include Micaela Morelli, Nicola Riva, Stefania Rosas, Beppe Tomasini, Claudio Secci, and others.

3) Villasimius, Friday, June 5th, opening event, USSI course and agenda on "USSI80, Inclusive Sardinia, against discrimination and inequality." The great champions: with Gianfranco Zola, deputy vice president of the Lega Serie C and a long-time supporter of USSI events, are expected David Suazo, Mauro Esposito, Beppe Dossena, Martina Caironi, and other champions of soccer, tennis, padel, field hockey, athletics, futsal, and Paralympic sports.
