The new year begins with the round of 16 of the Women's Italian Cup for Women Torres, who on Sunday visit Pro Sesto, currently third in Group A of Serie C, where the rossoblù occupy ninth place.

On paper, it seems like a foregone conclusion, especially given the 10-0 thrashing of sixth-place Pro Livorno against the Sassari team in the first round of the league. However, with the arrival of coach Emanuele Ruiu and a few adjustments, the Rossoblu have improved their pace: two draws and one win (against Solbiatese) in the last three rounds, which have meant they've climbed out of the danger zone.

Coach Emanuele Riu said: "The team continued to work during the holiday break. On Sunday, we have an important match against the powerful Pro Sesto, a match that will inevitably bring us back to what happened on Matchday 1, but our goal is to be prepared in every aspect. It will also be a significant test for the league: facing an opponent of this caliber will allow us to understand where we stand and to compete with great intensity and focus."
