Wind, Sbarra: «No to decisions imposed from above, 210 thousand Sardinians are against the lords of the wind»
The national secretary of the Cisl in Cagliari intervened on a wide range of issues: from energy issues to the Glencore dispute in PortovesmeVideo di Virginia Devoto
The warning is valid for everyone. Politicians and non-politicians. It was launched from Cagliari by Luigi Sbarra, the national secretary of the Cisl who landed in the capital of the Island for the Regional Council of the Ust, the Territorial Trade Union. « On the energy transition there cannot be decisions imposed from above : there are 210 thousand signatures for a proposed law against speculation , against the lords of the wind».
Therefore, the national Cisl is openly taking sides on the debate on renewables, which culminated in June with the assignment of 6.2 gigawatts to Sardinia . A quota established by the decree of Pichetto Fratin , also approved by the president Alessandra Todde. The territories have mobilized through the Committees. In the wake of the proposal, with the mayor of Orgosolo, Pasquale Mereu , in the role of promoter , Pratobello 24 was born, the law of popular initiative. 10 thousand signatures would have been enough to get the legislative text to the Regional Council. The signatures have instead exceeded 210 thousand (net of the fact that the majority has decided to give precedence to bill 45 on the suitable areas).
Sbarra fits into this groove, who on the energy transition has underlined again: «Through dialogue, comparison, social cohesion, we must carry forward a discussion that balances the theme of the development of renewables with the needs, the protection of the environment, with the interests of the territory ». The number one of the confederal acronym has placed the reasoning on Sardinia within the national context, recalling the need to carry forward «a new perspective of energy policy aimed at the business system and families». For Sbarra, on the Island «we must also create the conditions for methane gas to arrive» , considered the way to «reduce the weight and cost of energy on the territories».
Sbarra has also taken a very clear position on the latest Portovesme dispute. "A very insidious, difficult game, which we are also supporting in the relationship with the national government to build the conditions for Glencore to continue to remain in Sardinia and to ensure production continuity and the protection of jobs. We absolutely cannot lose the zinc and lead supply chain , even if it has been greatly reduced in recent years: they are important and decisive sectors not only for the industrial stability of the Island but also on a national level". For the number one of the Cisl "we need to build the conditions for a great alliance between local, regional and national institutions and commit Glencore to present an industrial plan that confirms production activity in the plant and that ensures the protection and safeguarding of jobs . There are also aspects linked to possible reconversions. We are open and available to discuss. One thing we will not accept is that this industrial reality ends".
The secretary of the confederal acronym then explained the reasons why the Cisl decided not to join the national strike against the 2025 Budget , a mobilization planned by Cgil and Uil for November 29. «We respect the choices of the other unions even if we do not share them and we demand similar respect towards the Cisl - said Sbarra -. Today we have a budget law that was born in a difficult situation, also from the new constraints of the stability pact, but it incorporates many of our requests , with an approach that is attentive to the average and popular incomes of workers and pensioners, to the needs of families , to support birth rates, to the demands of young people and women looking for work . Resources are allocated to renew public contracts, to strengthen the financial endowment of the National Health Fund , the tax relief measures for performance-related wages and fringe benefits are extended for three years. Why shouldn't we take ownership of these union achievements and leave them to politics?"
Meanwhile, the work of the General Council of the UST concluded with the election of Giuseppe Atzori , 59 years old, from Cagliari, who takes the place of the outgoing Mimmo Contu , who has reached retirement. Valeria Picciau and Gimmi Uda will join Atzori in the secretary. The regional secretary Pierluigi Ledda also spoke, saying: «A new season of investments and growth is also necessary in Sardinia. Development, cohesion and maintenance of services are a guiding star, which sees us committed and protagonists, strengthening the comparison and dialogue with the Region and in cascade with all the administrations, to improve the conditions of the communities and the territories».
