Wind power, Todde-Pichetto meeting: «Closest positions»
Face to face "profitable and positive", which constitutes "a first big step forward in the defense and protection of our territory"The positions of the Government and Region on the map of suitable areas are approaching . And the minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin "understood" the reasons for the 18-month moratorium on wind and photovoltaic plants approved by the Todde Council, because "in the absence of rules , Sardinia at the moment is objectively exposed more than other regions ".
Word of Alessandra Todde , who this morning met the representative of the Meloni government at the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security. Also present at the summit were the councilor for Industry Emanuele Cani, the councilor for the Environment Rosanna Laconi, the heads of cabinet Luca Caschili and Cesare Moriconi .
A "profitable" meeting, as Todde defined it, in which all the issues concerning energy in Sardinia were discussed.
First of all, the map of suitable areas: « We started from distant positions, I must say that following the discussion the Region and the ministry have become very close . Tomorrow there will be a meeting with the other regions to define a summary which we will then bring to the minister. For us it is essential that the Regions are involved especially when discussing issues relating to urban planning, landscape and correct energy development." The ministry's guidelines, explains the president, remain, but "the possibility of disposing of their territory must be left to the Regions" .
"We presented the reasons for the moratorium to safeguard the landscape and environment of Sardinia and the minister was understanding," added Todde.
"Important" discussion also on the overcoming of coal power plants and the methanization of the island : "The minister said he was willing to convene a table that can bring together all the actors in order to close this chapter as quickly as possible ."
Among the topics covered also the relationship between Government and Region and water basins.
«An absolutely positive meeting – concludes Todde – which lays the foundations for a fruitful collaboration in the future » and constitutes « a first big step forward in the defense and protection of our territory ».
