Jannik Sinner reaches the third round of Wimbledon , the round of 32.
On Centre Court at the All England Club, the world number 1 overcame Portuguese Nuno Borges , number 48 in the world, in three sets with the score of 7-6, 7-6, 6-4.
Now the South Tyrolean champion will challenge the American Jenson Brooksby (n.81 ATP).
"I'm happy, it was very tough," Sinner said after the match. "We served well in the first two sets, but I didn't have much control because there wasn't much play. Two wins are positive, but we need to improve a couple of things."
"Now we'll see what happens," adds the world No. 1. "In the first match, the lack of matches after Paris made things difficult for me, but these kinds of matches help me get into the swing of things. Tomorrow I'll rest; yesterday I didn't work much because Monday's match was difficult."
