The national wheelchair basketball team has reached the quarterfinals of the World Championship currently underway in Ottawa, Canada. They secured a resounding 71-44 victory over Argentina in the round of 16, with the match already on the line in the first quarter, which ended 22-9.

It's the fourth victory in four matches played by coach Castellucci's boys who, after the historic success over the reigning Paralympic and world champions, the United States, in the last match of Group A, avenge the defeat suffered by the Argentinians in the round of 16 of the 2018 World Cup.

Their next opponent is Poland, led by Dominik Mosler, a key player for Dinamo Lab. It will be a derby match that will qualify for the semifinals, given that three players from the Sassari team represent Italy: Giulio Maria Papi, Driss Saaid, and Enrico Ghione. Interesting fact: the match is a rerun of the quarterfinals at the European Championships in Sarajevo, which secured the Azzurri's spot in the semifinals.
