We Moderates, Tunis: "Young people and the environment, our projects for Sardinia"

Dribble clichés, repudiate frills and reject slogans. Stefano Tunis, father of the “Sardegna20Venti” movement, loves concreteness and proposes “alternative” solutions based on studies and data. He is a candidate in the plurinominal college under the banner of "We Moderates" within the center-right coalition.

The first step to put the “Sardegna20Venti” project in a drawer?

“But absolutely not, quite the opposite. We participate in the “We Moderates” cartel just like other civic movements do, for example, which espouse European popularism like us. We have a clear objective: to “contaminate” national politics with local representatives and in particular with the mayors, who are unfortunately abandoned by everyone. It is too often forgotten that the country is largely administered, at the local level, by civic lists that are systematically forgotten when it comes to composing national candidacies ”.

What is the contribution of “Sardegna20Venti” within “Noi moderati”?

«To strengthen this union with ideas and concreteness with an eye to the world of young people and schools. And then keep the bar steady in defense of the environment ».

Center-right, center-left, 5 Star Movement: what space can a moderate area have?

«Look, at the regional level the late Giorgio Oppi was working on the construction of a true centrist area by gathering the best moderate energies. And he did it with Mario Floris who remains the material father of this vision and this project. Antonello Peru and Andrea Biancareddu are contributing by giving quality to this work. It is a construction site we are also working on. But I want to clarify one thing ».

«National level: no to making families go into debt to pay their bills and no to further indebtedness of the state. Energy policy, which has been forgotten for over 10 years, must be taken back in hand, and focus on natural gas. Regional level: Sardinia must have an energy configuration that is consistent with development in the social and productive sphere. So focus on renewable energy, on accumulators and above all on the search for gas in the subsoil of the island ».

Insularity, everyone says that now we need to fill the constitutional principle with content.

«In the meantime it would be good not to empty it. I have always supported this battle, I have collected the signatures alongside the committee and now we need to reach a true insularity ».

Which passes from territorial continuity.

«It goes without saying that in this case the game is played in the European Union, as it has always been. On the one hand, we must reach a price that is reasonable for everyone and on the other hand, ensure continuity for the residents. The Sardinia gap includes both mobility and accommodation capacity. A coherent response must be obtained on this ».

Health chapter.

«Two days ago I attended a meeting in Monza and the impression I got is that in Lombardy there is a“ more harmonious ”healthcare with the presence of private individuals in the public. In reality there are the same problems we have in Sardinia: there is a lack of doctors and nurses. And they are missing because there was a wrong programming that today we are paying for ».

The solution?

«Let's go beyond the limited number in medicine. The criticality to be overcome is linked to the professional responsibility of doctors which creates administrative problems on the management of human resources which, on the other hand, needs more decline. It is necessary to increase the operational level of paramedics and to push a lot on telemedicine. Today a diagnosis can be done safely remotely but professional responsibility instead requires a radiologist in presence for the anamnesis. Finally, doctors and health personnel need to be paid more. Rethinking the careers of doctors and nurses: today the wage system is really at a very low level ».

Which applies to all workers.

"Absolutely yes. There is no corporate income policy because we have always thought about keeping inflation under control and today we are realizing that this system is crushing us ».

Demographic collapse in Sardinia, and beyond.

“It's the fault of the center-left's politics that wanted to concentrate services on large urban areas. Look at Cagliari: high concentration of services and the only reality on the island where real estate value has risen. Result: for a young person, for a couple, for those who do not have a steady job it is impossible to live in the Sardinian capital and at the same time it is difficult to live outside, where services do not exist. A short circuit which is the real cause of the depopulation. Where you can stay there is nothing, where there are services you cannot afford to buy a house ».

How to get out?

«Structural investments on the new generations. Aid for social integration must be given to young people who leave school and on the basis of various aspects. A new Master & back that aims to keep the best qualities here. An immediately feasible project since there is certainly no shortage of structural funds. What is missing is the vision, unfortunately ».
