Water polo, on penalties the blue dream fades: Spain world champion

Italy's dream of winning gold at the water polo world championships in Budapest fades to the last.

After the penalties (the regular time had ended 9-9) in the final, Spain wins 15-14 and returns to the world champion after 21 years.

Settebello was unable to replicate the success of Gwangju 2019. The Azzurri national team, led by coach Sandro Campagna, had to "settle" for the silver medal. The Spaniards, right from the start, were ahead in the score: 6-3 at half-time and then 9-6 at the start of the last quarter. The Azzurri, however, straightened out the match in the final, before collapsing in the 5-meter shots .
