No sooner had the party consolidated its position, after several battles waged with media fireworks, than there was already an earthquake at the top in Surra: Michael Ardu, until yesterday the face of the independence movement with Elena Pinna, exited the scene.

“Sardigna Unida Rinaschìda Resistenti Autodeterminada”, this is the meaning of the acronym “Surra”, communicates the expulsion in a few lines.

"As of today, Michael Ardu is no longer a member of Surra and does not represent the movement in any way. This decision is final," the statement reads, with a hint of severity.

The reasons? They're not yet known. In a video, he talks about "personal issues." "Out of respect for those involved and a sense of responsibility, we have chosen not to make public the reasons that led to his resignation," the Movement further explains. The Movement, it is assured, "is moving forward, with the same determination and without allowing individual issues to divert Surra from its goal. Our only priority is the protection of Sardinia , and it is the sole driving force behind all our actions and the foundation of our struggle."
