The leadership of the Sardinian Action Party is starting in Cagliari and will have to choose which path to take in the next Regional elections, confirming or not the candidacy of Paolo Truzzu (FdI) for the presidency in place of the outgoing governor Christian Solinas (Psd'Az).
“We will listen to the members and then we will comment,” Solinas said before the summit.
The meeting will be attended by members, elected officials, councilors and party bodies. There are, in addition to the secretary Christian Solinas, the deputy Quirico Sanna and the president Antonio Moro . Also present were the councilors for Health Carlo Doria and General Affairs Andreina Farris . The councilors: Piero Maieli, Alfonso Marras, Domenico Gallus, Nanni Lancioni and Gianni Chessa. Chessa himself (who is also Councilor for Tourism) explained before the directorship that " in life you need coherence, I am for the centre-right to remain united ". With Solinas running for president? "I don't know that, it's not for me to say."
«When agreements are made everyone must take a step forward. At the moment the situation is at a standstill", the president of the Psd'Az Antonio Moro had said a few hours earlier on "Un giorno da pecora" on Rai Radio 1.
" We ask that the leadership of the coalition remains in the hands of the Sardinians with Solinas as president ," added the Transport councilor. However, excluding the hypothesis that the center-right could have two candidates: «I don't think there is the possibility of giving a gift to the M5S candidate. We need a moment of political synthesis to understand and rediscover the unity and strength of the centre-right coalition in Sardinia ."
Moro did not say it openly, but this means that, faced with the confirmation of Truzzu, who will officially present his candidacy tomorrow, the Psd'Az could still remain within the coalition's perimeter . In any case, he underlined, "the party will decide in the interests of Sardinia".
