With “Aspettando Lussu”, the Study Center intends to honor the thought and values of the statesman, bringing to the center of the debate themes such as social justice, democracy and love for Sardinia. An open invitation to all, to participate in this journey into memory and culture, anticipating 2025, the year in which the 50th anniversary of the death of Emilio Lussu will be celebrated.
“2025 is the fiftieth anniversary of the death of Emilio Lussu, the great Sardinian politician and writer,” said Valdo Spini, president of the scientific committee of the Emilio Lussu Study Center.
Lussu's political action was closely linked to that of Carlo Rosselli. His biography is legendary in many ways.
The adventurous biography of Lussu, a brave captain of the Sassari Brigade of the First World War, an anti-fascist from the very beginning and therefore confined to Lipari from which he escaped together with Carlo Rosselli with whom he founded Giustizia e Libertà in Paris, is still a great source of interest. This interest is increased by the brilliant work of Emilio Lussu as a writer who, with books such as 'A year on a plateau', 'March on Rome and surroundings', 'Clandestine diplomacy', has written memorable pages of high literary value.
Also very important was Lussu's autonomist action towards his region of Sardinia, of which he was one of the protagonists of special autonomy.
