First in Italy , in the academic field, the school of New Technologies of the Art of the "Mario Sironi" Academy of Fine Arts in Sassari has experimented with 360° VR cinema . Technology allows a new immersive cinematographic enjoyment because the shots, performed with special 360° cameras, are not limited by a frame, but are an infinite and continuous sphere.

An important and fundamental step forward for an innovative narrative and audiovisual expression, which arises from the collaboration between the School of New Technologies of the Arts, coordinated by the professor Daniele Dore, and the new School of Cinema, Photography and Audiovisual, inaugurated this year and coordinated by the teacher Davide Bini.

The works produced by Marta Manconi, Cristiano Mattei, Fabiana Miccio, Wanda Pianu, Giovanni Rosa, Rachele Setzu and Rebecca Setzu, students of the MA in Documentary Cinematography, who day after day are winning important awards and spaces in the panorama, were immediately appreciated artistic, in festivals and competitions.

The latest recognition in chronological order is for Cristiano Mattei, selected with his 360° VR short entitled "Foolimmersion" for the first international virtual exhibition on the island of Venice: “Viral Human. Public art and Metaverse” promoted by MIRNArte and Creative Motion.
The event will be open from 17 July to 2 November via the MIRNArte mobile application, which can be downloaded from 25 June on the Apple and Google Play stores.

The exhibition catalog will be available for consultation, both in paper and digital form, starting from the month of July.
