One month after the event in La Maddalena, the countdown has begun for the great tribute to Gian Maria Volonté.

In the year of the thirtieth anniversary of his death, “La Valigia dell'Attore” is dedicating a “three-day” event to the great actor, who passed away on December 6, 1994, which will take place from December 6 to 8, including meetings, book presentations, and screenings that tell his story from different points of view.

A second exceptional act of the 2024 edition of the festival dedicated to the actor's profession and named after him, after the canonical summer week, curated by Volonté's daughter, Giovanna, director of "La Valigia dell'Attore", which will open on December 6 at the Sala Primo Longobardo with the presentation of the documentary "Volonté. The man of a thousand faces" (2024): the tribute directed by Francesco Zippel retraces Volonté's intense personal and artistic journey also through the testimonies of illustrious personalities of Italian cinema such as Toni Servillo, Pierfrancesco Favino and Valeria Golino.

On the 7th it will be the turn of the film “La mort de Mario Ricci” (1983) by Claude Goretta, which earned Volonté the Award for Best Male Performance at Cannes, finally on the 8th, at the Mercato Civico, a morning of meetings will be held with the participation of authors of new publications and 2024 re-editions on Volonté.
