New, extraordinary success for the Italian sport in this unforgettable 2021: Italy is the Under 21 volleyball world champion.
On the parquet of the PalaPirastu in Cagliari, the azzurrini of Angiolino Frigoni won the gold medal by beating Russia 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-20) and so after four finals lost (1985 Milan, 1991 Il Cairo, 1993 Rosario, 2019 Manama), the only youth title that was still missing from the already prestigious Fipav showcase arrived in Sardinia.
The culmination of an extraordinary year for Italian volleyball. The success of the azzurrini was in fact preceded by those of the women's Under 20, who won world gold, and by the triumph of the senior national teams at the
Europeans.
On the third step of the podium of the Cagliari building went Polonia, who won 3-0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-19) over Argentina.
