Sofia Corona, the new Italian Third Category women's singles tennis champion, achieved the victory on the courts of Sporting Club Quartu after a splendid week of tennis and a final won with determination and talent. Competing for the title were 131 athletes from all over Italy. "For us," said Villaputzu Mayor Pierpaolo Piu, "this victory is even more special. Sofia grew up playing tennis in Villaputzu. Right here, on the courts of our club, together with her sister Sara," Piu added, "Sofia Corona took her first steps in tennis and built an important part of her sporting career, even winning the Sardinian D2 championship with the Villaputzu club. Wearing the colors of the Quattro Mori Tennis Team, Sofia has achieved a prestigious milestone: the title of Italian Champion.
