The Ministry of Education had no doubts. They included the “EconoMia 2025 Competition” among the competitions of the “National Program for the Promotion of Excellence”. Thus, knowing that among the 18 winners at the national level there is also a 17-year-old from Nuoro, a student at the Economic Social High School, “fills us with pride”, says the Law and Political Economy teacher, Mariantonietta Loche. “Our Veronica Logias, from class 4^ B, has received this important recognition. It is an achievement that makes us understand the importance of our scholastic path, its different approach. We study the present to understand the past”.

Nuoro shines

The capital of Barbagia is making its way, standing out in the important national competition reserved for high school students (fourth and fifth grades). The Satta high school decided to seize the opportunity presented by the “EconoMia Competition”. In fact, that event has reached its thirteenth edition and for several years has seen hundreds of students compete on the topics proposed by the International Festival of Economics, as always at home in Turin between the months of May and June. «The students participated in this initiative with great application - continues the teacher and project manager -. Moreover, although the competition was open to all Italian high schools, the topics covered were a perfect match for the Economic and Social high school. Subjects such as Law, Economics, Sociology are part of our daily lessons. This is why our school is defined as that of “contemporaneity”».

Keeping up with the times

The students of the Sebastiano Satta high school have made a great effort. In the school led by the principal Andrea Antonio Fadda, the “EconoMia 2025 Competition” was approached with the utmost seriousness. «Among our students, Maria Sanna also did well - says Mariantonietta Loche -. She passed the pre-selection, together with Veronica Logias. Then, however, only the second place reached the final phase. However, the important competition saw the participation of 12 of our girls. Logias and Sanna aside, there are several students who achieved excellent scores and who managed to rank among the top one hundred nationally». Loche specifies: «In this historical period, where students are afraid of the future and have little desire to get involved, the result obtained by our school gives us great satisfaction. The girls prepared themselves well, they believed in their possibilities. Yes, our high school looks to the present but tries to analyze those motivations that are often rooted in the past».

Turin

Meanwhile, the young Veronica Logias will fly to Turin at the end of the month for the International Festival of Economics. For her also a cash prize but, above all, the opportunity to be included in the National Register of Excellence, curated by the Ministry of Education and Merit.
