A story about loss and the strength of bonds, founded on a love that becomes a beacon through the hardest times: the new appointment in Cagliari with Valentina Mastroianni is scheduled for Wednesday the 28th. She will be a guest of the Tabacchi Club della Manifattura, in via Regina Margherita 33 , to present the new " Come la luce, così l'amore " at 7 pm , in conversation with the artistic director of the Lei Festival, Alice Capitanio . The appointment is in fact part of the previews of Extra Lei , and is organised in collaboration with the Miele Amaro bookshop, with free admission until seats are filled.
Published last October 13th by De Agostini , the book is a universal tale about grief and pain, but also about love: its protagonist is a kitten who, still a kitten, becomes part of a small family and finds her place in the world in the arms of a special child , who names her Stella . Their daily life flows peacefully, until the cat notices that her owner is increasingly fragile , and that a tense air of concern has suddenly descended upon the house.
Catapulted into a city of hidden passages, emblematic encounters, and creatures struggling to accept loss, Stella searches for the child with whom she shared the strongest bond , on a journey punctuated by the proverbial "nine lives" of felines, until she discovers a broader meaning to the love she experienced . A love that never truly ends, but changes shape and continues to exist around us, going beyond what is visible.
Illustrated by Andrea Calisi , the book renews Mastroianni's commitment to caring for and protecting children, a mission deeply rooted in the author's own experience: Mastroianni is the mother of three children, the youngest of whom, Tommaso, lost his sight at eighteen months due to neurofibromatosis. And it is thanks to her subsequent work to raise awareness about his son's illness , which she has carried out on social media and within institutions, that the writer and her works have reached a wider audience .
