"I could choose whether to watch the world go by or dive into it, I dived into it!". The choice that makes the difference is that of Valentina Ligas, 38, born in Cagliari, journalist, who has faced and overcome what cannot be considered an "incurable disease". You have shown it: "incurable" is an unacceptable word, in conflict with science and with the inexhaustible resources of those who deal with that enemy. He used "natural medicines": courage, healthy unconsciousness and a smile that surprised the opponent. Then he exorcised it through a book, "Life is everything else" ("Youcanprint", pages 261, € 19.50) which is a flow of positive thoughts, plots of soothing relationships and friendships as beautiful and precious as a drug that saves life.

In the autobiographical tale Valentina becomes Rose who in the opening words about the “curable disease” that fate has put in front of her clarifies: “It's easier to call him by his real name when I talk to someone who has had the same problem as me. Instead, I have a slight difficulty with those who have not known him, because I realized that it is a word that frightens: so I name it with delicacy, the same one I used with myself ". And again: “I have always talked very little about it, not because it is something to hide or unmentionable, but simply because I believe it is right to give it the importance it deserves. I consider it an experience, a path that life has asked me to face, an uncomfortable roommate to learn to live with, who day after day has become more and more insignificant to the point of becoming indifferent to me ".

The life of Valentina-Rose, the life that ensures emotions, joy and the strength to counter unforeseen events is "everything else": friends, family, passion for football and television interviews. Thus "everything else" takes the stage and the enemy who arrives suddenly, a trap in a path up to that regular point, is not an insuperable "moloch". The battle of Valentina now has wider horizons. She contributed to the birth of the “Mai più sole” association to share her experience with other women in the sign of solidarity and mutual help. The proceeds from the book are intended for the “Taccia” Foundation which supports cancer research and prevention.
