Mauro Usai confirmed, by detachment, to Iglesias. Ballot for Assemini, with uncertainty until late at night on the name of Mario Puddu's challenger, the most voted of the three contenders. It is the result (in part provisional) of the elections in the two main Municipalities voting for local administrations in Sardinia, the only ones with over 15,000 inhabitants.

IGLESIAS. The flow of results on the official portal of the Ministry of the Interior proceeded slowly. The one collected by the list representatives of the various parties in the field was faster. Outgoing mayor Mauro Usai obtained over 70% of the votes. He leads the lists of the center-left (one bears his name and has recorded important numbers), in an enlarged coalition of civics headed by Action, Article 1, Socialists, Fortza Paris and the former UDC. The second contender is far behind him: his adversary Beppe Pes, who at the head of a centre-right coalition (with members of the M5s – which here cannot find an agreement with the Pd –, Riformatori, Lega, UDC and Forza Italy) is around 25%. The rest of the votes, around 5%, went to Luigi Biggio, who presented himself with a single list, that of the Brothers of Italy. The turnout figure was good, at least compared to the last municipal elections: between yesterday and today at 3 pm, 65.15% of those entitled voted, against 59.13 in the previous round.

ASSEMBLE. The disinterest recorded among the voters of Assemini was greater, where the turnout stopped at 46.66%. Less than one out of two entitled has expressed himself. In the previous round, Sabrina Licheri had won the challenge that attracted 50.06% of adult residents. The mayor's name will emerge from the ballot in two weeks. The most voted is Mario Puddu, who had been the first Five Star mayor of Sardinia: in this round he presented himself at the head of a centrist breakfast made up of Reformers, UDC, Sardinia 20Venti and a civic that bears his name. He's the man to beat. The name of the contender is uncertain until late at night: Diego Corrias (center-left extended to the M5s) and Niside Muscas (supported by Lega, FdI and Forza Italia) are confronted. As the hours went by, the gap between the two (with Corrias initially in the lead) became increasingly narrow. The carabinieri were called to a polling station. And in another, the counting of ballots, which had been considered closed, would restart after 10pm. Whatever happens, the risk is that a recount will be requested.
