Us Open, Jannik Sinner triumphs: Fritz defeated in three sets

Jannik Sinner wins the 2024 US Open and confirms himself as the new king of world tennis.

The Italian champion, world number one, defeated the home idol, the American Taylor Fritz in three sets in the final, with a score of 6-3, 6-4, 7-5.

An immense joy for Jannik, who, after his success at the Australian Open, is the first Italian to triumph on the hard courts of Flushing Meadows.

A big disappointment, however, for the American, who was hoping to win the star-spangled tournament that US tennis players have not managed to lift for over 20 years (the last American to win was Roddick, in 2003).
