The circle formed in Piazza Funtana Eccia symbolizes strength, releasing ever-increasing energy. Su ballu tundu, played by Roberto Tangianu on the launeddas and Peppino Bande on the accordion, marked a moment of unity, brotherhood, and social equality between the communities.
Thus five folk groups ( Lula, San Gabriele di Villagrande, Battos Moros di Oliena, Sant'Anna di Tortolì and Santa Sofia di Tertenia), together with tenor groups (Su Narcone di Urzulei, Murales di Orgosolo, Tuones di Oliena), as well as the young accordion players Alessia Moro and Federico Perino, and the Tamburini e Trombettieri di Oristano, have christened the new folk group Santu Giorghi de Orthullè, which debuted last weekend on the occasion of the first edition of the event “Urzulei tra montagne e tradizioni” curated by Giuliano Marongiu and in which several celebrities of the island's entertainment scene also took part, including Maria Giovanna Cherchi and Giuseppe Masia.
Between Saturday and yesterday, the community at the foot of the Supramonte mountains welcomed numerous visitors, who appreciated the attention to detail in every corner of the town. Traditional sounds and aromas punctuated the festival, organized by the Pro Loco tourist board in collaboration with the municipal administration. Local culinary delights, from goat panna cotta to mutton and cordula, satisfied both palates and stomachs during this cultural event, which aims to become a fixture on the low-season calendar.
