"The situation in Portovesme remains dramatic , with 1200 workers facing these end-of-year days in total uncertainty . The visit of the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso , tomorrow to Portovesme , represents a crucial opportunity to start a concrete dialogue on the measures to be adopted to safeguard jobs and relaunch the economy of the area". Thus the general secretary of the Cisl, Pier Luigi Ledda .

"Urso's arrival is an important signal, but we cannot limit ourselves to symbolic meetings. We need concrete answers and immediate interventions . The workers involved in this crisis, with their families, risk paying the highest price and it is essential that the Government act decisively to guarantee a future for this territory".

The Portovesme crisis is part of an industrial context that has already been severely penalized by years of failed recovery strategies . For this reason, the Sardinian Cisl emphasizes the need for a long-term industrial plan and an industrial and energy policy that not only preserves jobs, but also encourages new investments to ensure the economic and social sustainability of the entire region .

"Our community - the leader of the Cisl strongly emphasizes - can no longer wait. Together with the other trade unions we are working to organize a structured meeting with the Minister, during which we will discuss possible solutions to resolve the Portovesme crisis and create the conditions for sustainable development of the territory. We will ask the Government to demonstrate with facts its closeness to the workers of Portovesme and their families".
