A top-down health reform that ignores union proposals and risks paralyzing the regional health system . Uil Sardegna has a very tough position on the bill being discussed in the Regional Council.

For the regional secretary Guido Sarritzu, the measure not only does not resolve the critical issues of Sardinian healthcare, but represents "yet another useless and harmful act" that certifies the failure of the Region's healthcare policies.

"The council - Sarritzu accuses - has chosen the shortcut of the administration to mask the lack of a strategy. This is a political measure that, instead of strengthening the health service, risks creating administrative instability, precisely at a time when certainty and planning are needed".

The union contests the merits of Legislative Decree 40, highlighting the most critical points : «Changing the administrative top management will not solve the underlying problems, from waiting lists to staff shortages».

And he adds: "The health system will continue to rely on unsustainable shifts and precariousness. The measure does not provide for concrete investments to reduce the times of visits, tests and interventions".

A look also at the areas of the Island that "continue to be penalized by closures and cuts, with citizens forced to move to receive care".

According to Uil, the hearings in the Commission were only a "mere formality", without really listening to the proposals of the workers in the sector .

The union is therefore calling for an immediate change of direction and a real dialogue with the institutions. "We don't need spot interventions, but a structured reform that guarantees administrative stability, management continuity and a real improvement of health services", concludes Sarritzu.
