Dinamo's journey in the Next Gen Cup, the trophy for the youth teams of clubs that play in Serie A, begins with a mocking defeat. In the Varese group, the Sassari team is caught and overtaken in the last two minutes by Trieste, who wins 83-78.

Carlini's team played a very good first half, ending up ahead by 8 points, but after the break Trucchetti and Piredda's shooting percentages dropped and Trieste got closer. From 73-64 in the 32nd minute the white-blue attack began to stop and the opponent produced a 19-5 break that turned the match around. In the last two minutes Dinamo still had a 2-point advantage, but was unable to score again, suffering the overtaking of Trieste.

For Trucchetti 23 points (but with 5/18 two-pointers) and 7 assists, 16 points for Piredda (4/12 two-pointers and 5/10 free throws), 12 for Vasselli (3/7 three-pointers) and 13 for Angius, the most accurate of his team with 5/7 shooting. Worth mentioning are the 13 rebounds of the Montenegrin Mudrusa, who however only made 3/9 from the field.
