Triathlon, two days with Xterra Sardinia in Castiadas
It starts on Saturday at 10.30 with the youth competitions
Two days of competitions in Castiadas for a true off-road triathlon festival . The best way to celebrate the return to the island of the historic Xterra brand, ten years after the last race, held in Cala Ginepro.
On Saturday from 10.30 the youth competitions and, from 13, those sprint distance (500 meters of swimming, 12 km of mountain biking and 4 of running) and full (1000-28-7). On Sunday at 9 am the start of the new format, the long race (2 km, 58-18) also open to gravel bikes and not only to mountain bikes to close Xterra Sardinia.
The departure is from the beach of San Pietro , in front of the Hotel Garden Beach, headquarters of the event set up by Sardegna X Sports with Xterra Europe, Xterra Planet, the convinced participation of the Municipality of Castiadas and the indispensable participation of the Tourism Department of the Region.
About two hundred (except for the feared and unfortunately inevitable last-minute defections due to the positivity to Covid) the athletes participating in the absolute competitions . The Xterra triathlon arrived in Italy in 2004, when the first edition of Xterra Italy was conceived in Villacidro. As noted by the French Nico Lebrun, former world champion and now representative of Xterra Europe.
