After two years of pandemic, the number of passengers headed to Sardinia is finally growing again . Excellent news for the island, if it weren't for the fact that with the desire to go on holiday the rates also increase, with crazy prices even for a simple Milan-Cagliari.

Thanks to the fact that since May there has no longer been a ceiling for ticket prices, the figures are returning to the hands of the airlines. And so Ita Airways and Volotea, which have agreed to manage territorial continuity for a year without financial compensation, try to maximize revenues by focusing on vacationers .

An example? A return ticket on connections from Fiumicino and Linate to Sardinian airports can cost up to 454 euros in the week from 8 to 14 August . Figures that at least for now do not prevent the tourist season from traveling at full speed. Even if cancellations and delays are the order of the day.

But for Gian Mario Pileri, regional president of Fiavet Confcommercio which brings together travel agencies, there is no need to relax: "We are saving, with very interesting numbers, the foreigners who had booked tickets six months ago, paying much more low with their companies: in fact the tourists we have now are mainly Spaniards, Germans, Austrians, British and French ”.

From mid-July, according to his prediction, the numbers will slow down : "He is a type of tourist who, when the prices become very high season, runs away". " We have become a land for rich tourists , and it is a mistake: 2,500-3,000 euros just for tickets to come to Sardinia, which are required of a family, put our island out of the holiday market".
