Initial positive estimates show a significant increase in hotel occupancy and flight searches to major Italian destinations for the June 2nd long weekend, thanks in part to favorable weather forecasts . According to an analysis by the Ministry of Tourism's statistics office, online travel agency occupancy stood at 53.2% between May 29th and June 4th, a 4.3% increase over the previous year.

And Sardinia remains among the most popular destinations. While direct national connectivity grew by 13%, that to Cagliari recorded the highest peak: +26% compared to the previous year.

Analyzing specifically the long weekend days, saturation at the national level reaches 55.7%, marking a 4.2% increase compared to 51.5% in 2025.

This data, extracted on May 25, 2026, indicates that occupancy could continue to rise as we approach the holiday season. Specifically, hotel occupancy has increased, from 48% in 2025 to 53% in 2026.
