Tourism, boom in bookings for north-west Sardinia: Alghero queen of holidays

Strong growth in June compared to 2023 for hotels in the north west of the island.
The offices of the provincial Federalberghi-Confcommercio of Sassari processed the data sent by a sample of 35% of all hotel accommodation facilities operating in the province. From Stintino to Castelsardo, passing through Valledoria, Porto Torres, Alghero, Sorso, Sassari and inland areas: the bed places sampled on a monthly basis were 120,750, for 24,329 arrivals of which 9,666 national and 14,663 international.
The bed filling index reached the notable target of 64.53% against 53.79% in the same month 2023, while the room filling index reached 72.82%, surpassing the equivalent figure of previous year, stuck at 62.23%.
In Alghero, already the queen of Sardinian holidays in 2023 , the room filling index is above the provincial average and sets the bar at 74.65% , compared to 67.78% in the same month 2023. The bed filling index per 67.69% against 61.86% in June 2023.
The Gulf of Asinara also performed well, with a room occupancy rate of around 68 percent compared to 53 percent in 2023.
«The first typically summer month, unequivocally driven by the seaside marine product - considers the president of Federalberghi Confcommercio Province of Sassari Stefano Visconti - has established very strong employment growth compared to the previous year, already satisfactory for the sector. A precious asset, that of the environmental context, capable of persuading more and more tourists to choose our destination, despite the ruthless competition exercised by antagonistic destinations such as Greece, Spain, North Africa, Croatia and Albania".
