Nuoro returns to the center of major cycling. Following yesterday's official presentation at the Regional Council and the announcement of the Giro's return to Sardinia, today comes the city's approval: the Barbagia city will be a protagonist in the Giro di Sardegna, a prestigious international cycling race on the professional circuit.

Nuoro will host the stage's arrival on February 28th and the start on March 1st, confirming its position as a central hub for a high-level sporting event.

The selection was made by the Professional Cycling League, in collaboration with the Region and the regional councilors for Tourism, Franco Cuccureddu, and Sport, Ilaria Portas. This is an important recognition for the city, which will benefit from national and international visibility thanks to the live broadcast on Rai Due.

The event will bring approximately 600 people to Nuoro, including athletes, staff, and industry professionals, offering a significant opportunity to promote the area.

The heart of the event will be Piazza Italia, where the race commentary station will be set up and where spectators can watch the professional cyclists pass by live. Four names who have made history in Italian cycling will be reporting on the race: Fabio Aru, Francesco Moser, Gianni Bugno, and Claudio Chiappucci. "We are proud that Nuoro has been chosen to host an event of this caliber," emphasizes Nuoro City Councilor for Sport, Natascia Demurtas. "Events like the Giro di Sardegna demonstrate that the city has the organizational capabilities to host major sporting events.

It's a concrete opportunity to promote not only sporting events, but also cultural and tourism events, enhancing Nuoro and making it visible on a national and international stage." "Sport," Demurtas concludes, "is an extraordinary tool for growth and cohesion. As an administration, we are investing seriously and consistently, in synergy with the Sardinia Region, to bring quality events back to Nuoro, capable of making a lasting impact and generating real opportunities for the area."
