The Pastoral of Tourism organized by the Diocese of Nuoro and Lanusei presided over by Bishop Antonello Mura is coming to a close with an unmissable event.
The event wanted to dedicate an important space to entrepreneurial issues by inviting a famous personality who has been an appreciated essayist for many years, much followed by young people and often a guest at the most important literary festivals around Italy.
It is Oscar Farinetti, who will present his latest literary work this evening, Tuesday 3 September, at 9.30 pm in the Caritas Amphitheatre of Tortolì, interviewed by the journalist of L'Unione Sarda Giuseppe Deiana.
Interspersing the words of the owner of Fontanafredda, the magical notes of an extraordinary virtuoso of the harmonica and beat box such as Moses Concas, winner in 2016 of Italia's Got Talent and among the most important Sardinian artists on the international scene.
Recently he was among the challengers of the best world competitions of the various editions of the famous international talent show that saw him as the protagonist in America and Spain.
In recent years, after the editorial successes with “Dialogue between a Cynic and a Dreamer”, published by Rizzoli and co-written with Piergiorgio Odifreddi, and “Serendipity, 50 Stories of Success Born by Chance” published by Slow Food, Oscar Farinetti returned to the bookshops with two other best sellers from Rizzoli, “Never Quiet, My Story (Reservedly Authorised)” and 6X2, also in this case a tandem work conceived with Oscar Di Montigny.
For this edition of the Pastorale, the guru of Eataly, the empire of Italian agri-food excellence in the world that has over 8,600 employees with points of sale and exhibition stores in over 10 countries, increasingly a global traveler and profound connoisseur of the world and entrepreneurship, will talk about the new volume "10 moves to face the future. A new life through pleasure and beauty" published by Solferino.
This book is a bridge. It unites the past, that of everyone, and the future, that of each. In an uncertain and competitive world, swept by winds of war, political crises and emergencies, the future is often scary, but there is a precise way to avoid being overwhelmed by it: plan it, day by day, following ten simple moves. An exceptional witness demonstrates this: Leonardo Da Vinci, who had already foreseen and tried them all and who was, not by chance, a genius. Oscar Farinetti turns to him as the ideal interlocutor to give authority to his ten pieces of advice, and to him, in turn, he tells some stories. That of the young revolutionaries of May '68 who imagined the future and that of Marilyn Monroe who failed to build it; that of Che Guevara who tried to change it and that of Andy Warhol who wanted to transfigure it, or of Miles Davis who managed to color it. And others, to end with a reflection on what literally fuels it, the future: food, which unites tradition and innovation, the immediate pleasure of taste and the permanent value of gastronomic wisdom.
The ten moves suggested by Farinetti are steps in a construction that cannot be improvised and that cannot be done alone: a collective intelligence is needed that can only arise from a deep shared culture. Thus, with the notes of experience and passion, talent and irony, the author builds a powerful variation on the theme of "recipes for success", renewing and enriching it to create a symphony of history and stories, the only one capable of inspiring us and moving us to action and change.
