Should they take a risk now by bringing in a couple of younger players, or continue to rely on veterans to secure their place in the standings? This is the dilemma facing coach Greco. The first three Serie C matches have featured a confident and proactive Torres side, relying on the playmaking talents of Mastinu and Zecca on the right flank. Furthermore, when facing equally experienced opponents, they were able to hold their own physically.
On Sunday in Grosseto, however, they were without point guard Mastinu and faced a lineup packed with young players who ran more and therefore got to the ball quicker. The absences and a very long bench certainly had an impact, but it's worth considering whether against such opponents it wouldn't be better to bring in more athletically lively players, even if they lose some physicality and experience.
The fact is that Torres has only three points and two home games to play against Ostiamare and Pineto. Two games in four days, rotation is essential. This could be an opportunity to increase the playing time of Sanat, Carboni, and Lunghi, and give defender Kebbeh his debut, all young players. Perhaps they shouldn't all be used together to maintain some balance, but they should be used for longer periods of time, also to test them now that the many absences allow it.
