The official announcement has now been made: Alfonso Greco is returning to the Torres bench. For the third time. The first was in Serie D, where he returned to Serie C thanks to an excellent playoff run. The second was in his first season in Lega Pro, when he was first fired but then recalled following the disappointing results of his successor, Sottili. Now the return of a coach who—it should be remembered—is still under contract but wasn't confirmed in the summer.

Alfonso Greco will be presented to the press tomorrow afternoon.

Today, president Stefano Udassi and sporting director Andrea Colombino will take stock of a season that has started disastrously in terms of results: Torres is second to last, has won only once in thirteen matchdays, and has the worst attack in the entire Serie C.

At this point, it's likely that the youth project, which was supposed to bring in a substantial cash prize, will be shelved, and the focus will be on the old guard, whom coach Greco knows very well after four seasons, which also yielded a second and third place.
