Torres earned their first away point in a 1-1 draw in Forlì. With some regret, after Lorenzo "The Magnificent" Di Stefano had opened the match with a 1-0 lead, the Sassari side failed to knock out the visitors in the 56th minute when Zecca, alone in the penalty area, fired a shot past the goalkeeper.
It's a real shame, especially since coach Greco faced the team with limited men, given the ailments of Nunziatini and Carboni, who joined the injured Zanandrea, Scaringi and Sorrentino, who underwent surgery on a meniscus in his left knee.
Twenty-year-old Kebbeh made a very positive defensive debut: with him on the pitch, high balls and wing passes were handled by one man. After Petrelli's initial overhead kick (a great reflex from Zaccagno), Torres took the lead when Scotto played it through to Di Stefano, who slotted the ball in just wide of the right post.
In the second half, Berto accidentally hit the crossbar with a header as he was about to score an own goal. In the 56th minute, Pennington's brilliant pass found Zecca, who ran into the box alone but fired at the keeper; Scotto fired over on the rebound. Kebbeh and the booked Masala and Pennington came off, while Corsinelli, Mastinu, and Boninu came on, but Torres appeared unbalanced, and Farinelli's counterattack finally equalized: a cross from the left was saved by Coveri and scored.
