As with Campobasso, Torres rejected defeat at Pianese and equalized late on. Striker Di Stefano scored the 1-1 goal in the 87th minute, validating the Sassari team's strong finish, extending their winning streak to six.

It was a tough match in Tuscany against a Pianese side that was extremely well-organized and clean in their play. Greco's team started aggressively but was stopped in their tracks in the 14th minute by Martey, who crossed from the left for Fabrizi to head in. The goal sent Torres reeling, but Zaccagno did well to block both Proietto's shot and Sussi's, a Fabrizi-powered pass. The Rossoblù rallied after the half-hour mark, but Zambataro's shot and Antonelli's header from a corner were both deflected by defenders.

In the second half, Torres made three changes and a change in the formation, with Zambataro replacing Fabriani on the right in defense, Masala in the attacking midfield, and Liviero on the left flank. Pianese exploded in the 55th minute with a powerful shot from Martey blocked by Zaccagno. Torres then took control and began to create danger from set pieces: both from corners (Antonelli headed centrally) and from free kicks, where Masala and Mastinu angled well but without much power. With three minutes remaining, Di Stefano broke from the left midfield, outwitted two defenders, and slotted home the equalizer.
