Livorno won the direct clash 3-1 with two penalties in their favor. It was a dark night for Torres, who are still second to last, having failed to win in 14 games.

A very tactical first half played out under pouring rain. Livorno's 4-3-1-2 was replaced by coach Greco with a 3-5-2, with Mastinu and, especially, Masala moving into the attacking midfield. The team had possession but lost possession a couple of times in their own midfield, allowing striker Di Carmoine (Zaccagno saved in the 3rd minute) and Dionisi (9th minute) to strike, but the defense cleared the ball out for a corner. In the 22nd minute, Antonelli blocked Di Carmine's shot. In the 40th minute, Biondi dribbled past Fabriani with an aerial tackle and then touched him, causing him to fall. The referee called a penalty (a decision that stood after VAR), and Di Carmine converted, wrong-footing Zaccagno. In added time, Starita crossed from the left for Masala, who headed it home himself, but it went just over.

The second half almost immediately drew the equalizer thanks to two of their best players: Zambataro's cross from the left was met by Sala's header. In the 65th minute, another missed ball in their own half (by Starita) proved costly, allowing Dionisi to receive the ball in the box and restore the lead. And in the 88th minute, a frankly exaggerated penalty was awarded for a collision on the edge of the penalty area by Carboni, who was clearing the ball and didn't see Bonassi, who was hit. Di Carmine converted again.
