Torres, Captain Scotto goes to Treviso: "I'm sorry, but it's not my fault."

Destination Treviso, in Serie D. Captain Gigi Scotto is leaving the Sappada training camp and changing teams because he no longer fits into the plans of Torres, who had extended his contract until 2027 last summer.
The thirty-five-year-old Sassari striker explained this in his farewell to fans on social media: "Until the very end, I hoped this moment would never come. I did everything in my power to stay, to continue defending these colors that I've always held in my heart. But now it's time to accept a reality that doesn't depend on me—and it hurts, deeply."
He leaves Torres after 151 games and six non-consecutive seasons, peppered with 40 goals, some of them truly spectacular. "I tried to give it my all: on the pitch, in the locker room, and off the pitch. Sometimes I succeeded, sometimes I didn't. What I hope most is to have been an example, or at least a hope, for many children and young people in Sassari, who dream of one day becoming Torres players."
