A thousand spectators attended the "Vanni Sanna" stadium for the first home match of the two Sassari teams. Torres defeated their rivals, Latte Dolce, one division below in Serie D, 1-0.

Coach Pazienza fielded two different formations for each half, but always with a 3-4-1-2 formation, although attacking midfielder Carboni also served as a central striker in the defensive pressure. The rejuvenated Rossoblu squad has some potential, but there's still a lot of work to be done, and two forwards (Musso and Di Stefano) are yet to be signed. Initial impressions of Latte Dolce are of a more solid lineup than last season.

The first half was more about good intentions and possession than about fine moves. Torres closed the match in the lead thanks to Mastinu, who capitalized on Latte Dolce's defensive uncertainty in the eighth minute, winning the ball back in the box and calmly scoring. Fini's Biancocelesti came close to equalizing in the 23rd minute on a Cabeccia header, but Zaccagno saved. Salvato also prevented a goal, Torres's second, by tackling Diakite in front of goal, who was well-placed by Zambataro's low cross from the left.

In the second half, Torres was more lively and quicker in the exchanges, with Carboni excellent in passing and Lunghi very dangerous up front, although on the half-hour mark, she missed a goal when Salvato came out. Fois did the same shortly after, firing over from inside the box. There were more chances, but no goals.
