After Parliament, the Superior Council of the Judiciary is also involved in the case of the dismissal of the president of the region, Alessandra Todde, due to the revocation of the defense mandate (which had been conferred to the lawyer Riccardo Fercia) by the Regional Electoral Guarantee Board, now chaired by Massimo Costantino Poddighe, acting after the retirement of Gemma Cucca, who had signed the dismissal order of the Sardinian governor and imposed a fine of 40 thousand euros for irregularities in the expenses of the electoral campaign.

Enrico Aimi, councilor and lay member of the CSM, has asked for the opening of a file "to verify the position" of the new president of the College. "The request", explains Aimi himself in a note, "follows reports of a possible conflict of interest: Poddighe is the cohabiting spouse of Dr. Marcella Marchioni, regional director appointed by the Todde Council, subject of the forfeiture procedure".

For the member of the constitutional body «doubts have also been raised on the revocation of the assignment to Professor Riccardo Fercia and on the choice of the State Attorney's Office for the defense of the Institution».

Yesterday, the issue was raised by a question from Sardinian centre-right MPs, led by Forza Italia's Pietro Pittalis, to the Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio to find out about "the initiatives to protect the autonomy and independence of the judiciary" in the matter.
