«Proud to be Sardinian». And we understand that it is not a slogan but a granite certainty. Not at all obvious: at 17 she went to study outside the island and for another 30 she worked in the United States, France, Holland. And Lombardy. To then return to his Sardinia. Alessandra Todde is vice president of the 5 Star Movement and, for a few more months, deputy minister of Mise. It is part of the "list" that Giuseppe Conte wanted to "lock": candidate in 2 multi-member colleges, Sardinia and Lombardy precisely.

A great responsibility.

«I am very proud of the trust that Giuseppe Conte has placed in me, ever since he asked me to be the deputy of the Movement. But it is important for me to have a continuous relationship with the members who are the real engine of the Movement and who always help us. The fact that they trust me is crucial. And this goes well beyond the “price list” discourse ».

Leaders in Sardinia and Lombardy.

«Two different lands and two pieces of my life. I returned to Lombardy when I left the US to work in Italy. And now I have the great satisfaction of being able to spend myself in this electoral campaign for my Sardinia ».

The election to the Chamber is pure formality.

«The chances are high but for me it is important to never take anything for granted. We are facing a very short and unprecedented campaign. It is essential to talk to people, to give hope to those who have not voted in recent times ».

In the event of a "double election", will it make room for the second in Sardinia or Lombardy?

«The space will go to those in the Movement who will help me in the electoral campaign. I have great respect for Emiliano Fenu and I am convinced that we will play an excellent team game. We can have a great opportunity: two elected Sardinians ».

Is the M5S goal to exceed 10%?

«The goal is to get as many votes as possible. What we have done shows our seriousness: in Sardinia there are 38 thousand citizenship income earners, our Superbonus has brought a deductible value of one billion and 300 million here. And then our battles: social equity, minimum wage, ecological transition. But do you realize that nuclear energy is being talked about again? An absurd debate, and we are the only ones against it. Where do they want to build the plants? And the waste deposit? Someone will propose Sardinia, unfortunately. I hope that all the Sardinian candidates will clearly say no ».

In this legislature, the island won the great battle of insularity in the Constitution.

«It is the expression of a principle of equal opportunities that Sardinia must have with other regions. Our territory has always been discriminated against and the results are poor infrastructures, lacking territorial continuity and lack of competitiveness of companies. Now we have to catch up and give substance to this principle ».

What development for the island?

«Important answers will come from the PNRR. Then we talk about depopulation but without basic services how can you live? Sardinia is not just Cagliari, where services are not lacking, but the internal territories where they are absent. We must enhance the sea and the sun from an energy point of view but without speculation. We must be aware of the resources and make it competitive ».

How?

«The infrastructures, fundamental for citizens and companies. A health that works and not like that managed by the center-right government; a "modern" tourism. But at the base of everything, and I will always repeat, we need to create a system. And we have to invest in education: if our kids don't believe in their future, what chance do we have here? "
