«Casaleggio no longer has any role or weight within the Movement. Despite declaring himself enormously distant from the M5s, he continues to comment on everything we do. A sort of obsession."

Alessandra Todde, president of the Sardinia Region of the M5s, attacks the founder's son in an interview with La Stampa.

“I haven't seen anyone question Conte's role,” underlines the governor. «The 5 Star Movement is starting a new phase, a constituent assembly in October which will be animated by our members, elected officials, many young people and many women. The constituent process will be broad and participatory, putting people at the centre. We leave splits in the past, they are scars that serve to remind us that certain mistakes are better not repeated", says Todde.

On the possibility of an alliance with Carlo Calenda and Matteo Renzi Todde replies: «Calenda seems to me to be more busy evaluating whether or not to join other parties. Renzi changes according to convenience. First on the left, then a reformist, then a little to the right passing through the center and now a pontificator of no one knows what. In Sardinia they kept out of the coalition because they considered the alliance with the M5s to be a loser and not digestible. So we need to understand what has changed in recent months."
