An evening dedicated to the narration of Sinis, of Sardinia more generally, but above all of the profound connections between present and past, history and culture, through the stories of Michela Murgia, in her hometown, Cabras.

In the premises of the Contini winery, a symposium dedicated to the writer took place on Friday evening, in the event "Festa delle donne del Vino" of the Donne del Vino in Sardinia association, in the presence of friends who knew her and who conducted some readings, among the most narrative ones such as "Journey to Sardinia", to the various stories about wine and food in Sardinia and its social value. “Consuming wine in Sardinia is a sign of great maturity, but above all it is knowing how to handle it,” we read. And, again, "60 years ago the only typical dish was hunger" and "the carasau bread can be preserved for a long time and this made it necessary and perfect to be consumed by Sardinian shepherds during long periods grazing far from home".

The stories on the typical revenges of the "Campidanese" and on neighborly relationships are hilarious - anecdotes collected from the author's social channels -, up to the more intense readings on motherhood and being a woman such as those extracted from the book "Dare la vita". For her and in memory of all the women on the occasions of March 8th, not only mimosas, but bunches of artichokes arranged in the rooms of the cellar, from the reception room to the barrel cellar where the vernaccia rests.

The "Viaggio nel Sinis" event dedicated to Michela Murgia was a "spontaneous opportunity to dedicate an evening to Murgia, born in Cabras and very close to this territory", said Anna Maria Fara, member of Le Donne del Vino Sardegna and Hospitality manager of Cantina Contini. Alessandro Contini, president of Cantina Contini 1898, underlines the importance of collective responsibility «in the care and enhancement of the territory in which we live, be it a public or private space».

Also present at the meeting was the Mayor of Cabras, Andrea Abis, who recalled the crucial role that women and female figures have in society, not only as custodians of culture and collective memory, but also as agents of change who, through their work and commitment, they manage to stir consciences and stimulate critical reflection on reality.
