Gavino Ledda is the winner of the "Pavese" prize in the "poetry" section. This was announced by the promoters of the initiative that pays homage to the Piedmontese writer. According to the jury, Ledda is “like Cesare Pavese, the author of a telluric and cosmogonic poem”. His tongue is "a well-sharpened sickle, which cuts the weeds of the world in the eternal cadence of fatigue and the rhythm that fulfills it". A language in which "the dough of name and thing still vibrates [...] of the original mot , motto-word and motte - clod, which breaks down and tears off the rind".

Novels and poems

Gavino Ledda, born in Siligo , 83 years old, scholar of the Italian and Sardinian languages, author of the autobiographical novels “Padre padrone” (translated into 40 languages) and “Lingua di falce”, has never neglected the poetic horizon. He has written several works in verse, including Aurum tellus (Scheiwiller, Milan1992). In his intense and multifaceted intellectual journey, he also approached cinema. He directed and starred in the film Ybris. Two years ago he had the leading role in Assandira, by Salvatore Mereu, based on the book by Giulio Angioni. The other awards of the Pavese 2022 Prize, chaired by Alberto Sinigaglia, were attributed to Norman Gobetti (translation), Iperborea (publishing), Ludovica Maconi and Mirko Volpi (non-fiction) and Michele Mari (fiction).
